Power Declarations [Command Your Day!]

Earlier this year, in February I shared with you all the set of 12 declarations that I would be using to command my day. To my delight, many of you have downloaded and have been using it! As we prepare to enter into the second half of 2021, I have refreshed those scripture-based daily declarations and they are available to you today as a downloadable on the website. I hope once again that you will join me in making faith-filled declarations as a regular part of our faith walk!

A few scriptures point us to the importance of our faith-filled words. In Joshua 1:8 we are reminded that “this Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it…” It could have said, the book of the law should not depart from our hearts and minds(and they shouldn’t) - but instead it intentionally states from our mouth! We are to speak out what is being solidified in our hearts.

Another powerful verse is Proverbs 18:21, which says boldly - “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” Presented with options of life and death I certainly choose the power of life to be released with my tongue.

Below is the refreshed set of daily declarations for the rest of the year. A few of them are carried over from the February list simply because they are still so necessary!

  1. Today God’s best flows out of me! His fruits of the Spirit are what are on display- joy that overflows, peace that subdues, patience that endures, kindness in action, a life full of virtue, faith that prevails, gentleness of heart, and strength of Spirit. (Gal 5:22)

  2. Today, no malice, hypocrisy or deceit will flow out of my heart or mouth. (2 Peter 2:1)

  3. Today I will listen for, and heed the voice of God. (John 10:27)

  4. Today I will be gentle, and serve others in humility (Proverbs 22:4 and Ephesians 4:2)

  5. Today I will use the power of my tongue to speak graciously and to build up others (Colossians 4:6 & Ephesians 4:29).

  6. Today I will be diligent at work, using my time wisely and not being lazy or slack. (Proverbs 10:4, Ephesians 5:16)

  7. Today I walk in gratitude and all that I do - in word and deed will bring God glory! (Ephesians 5:20 & Colossians 3:17)

8. Today all that I do will be done in love (1 Corinthians 16:14)

9. Today I will work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that God will reward me! (Colossians 3:23)

10. Today I will nourish (eat healthy) and strengthen(exercise) my body, God’s holy temple. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)

11. Today I will read, ponder on and obey God’s Word throughout the day; so that I might receive guidance, training and build a solid foundation that honors Him. (Psalm 119:105, Matthew 7:24 & 2 Timothy 3:16)

12. AND I CAN DO ALL THESE THINGS, THROUGH CHRIST WHO GIVES ME STRENGTH (Philippians 4:13)

Continue to keep God’s words in your heart, mind and don’t forget - in your mouth as well!
