This beautiful month of February, where many turn their focus to talking about and
showing love; I am reminded that for many of us – this time of the year does not bring
pleasant feelings or memories. Heart breaks, disappointments and betrayals could so
easily pull the rugs from underneath our feet and as such instead of mindlessly going
with the flow of this month of valentine, I turned my attention to explore the most
‘romantic’ book in the Bible. The goal was to dig into the entire book of Song of Songs
and grab some uplifting affirmations from God to His beloved ones. I did so in the
electrifying new Passion Translation, which portrays God’s love to us in a fiery and
relevant way that keeps the reader mesmerized from cover to cover.
Friends, this was not a discovery I could keep to myself so over this blog post and the
next I will be reinforcing to you in must-share bite sizes the love notes from God
Himself. My hope and prayer, is that at the end of the 2-part blog post you would gain
greater insight into God’s view of you, and walk victoriously and with a confident
assurance as a result.
Love Note #1: God calls you a Delicate, Pure Flower
“Though the curse of sin surrounds you, still you remain as pure as a lily…”
Song of Songs 2:2b (TPT)
It is no surprise to God that we live in a world filled with sin, corruption and pain. And although He is intimately familiar with our negative circumstances, He does not see us as tainted by them. Instead, in His eyes we are bright, beautiful, delicate and pure - like the beautiful lily.
Love Note #2: God sees you as Thrilling, Strong and Capable
“My dearest one let me tell you how I see you – you are so thrilling to me. To gaze upon you is like gazing at one of Pharaoh’s finest horses – a strong, regal steed pulling his royal chariot”
Song of Songs 1:9b (TPT)
Will you receive God’s affirming words today? Will you let His declaration over you
supersede the doubtful words of those who you believed would support you but have
not? Truth is, regardless of how you feel and what others have said, your creator sees
you as full of life, energetic and capable. Believe Him!
Love Note #3: God encircles you with His sweet love
“We will enhance your beauty, encircling you with our golden reins of love.”
Song of Songs 1:11a (TPT)
“We” in the verse above refers to the Trinity. Imagine that - God the Father, God the
Son, & God the Holy Spirit working in tandem - as one, to further beautify you from the inside out. While concurrently encapsulating you in His pure love and keeping you safely tucked in within His inexhaustible love. Oh, what a love!
